My sister comes up from New Orleans and we go there everytime. He did not charge her sales tax cause she was an "out-of-towner" and he had spent his honeymoon in New Orleans,... they got along. Don't assume you will not be charged sales tax!!
I think he has the remnants of many garage sales...which I love. If you've ever regretted not buying "that thing" at a garage sale..you might find it here....what a joy...he has it!!!.
There's always something you like, and the prices are soooo reasonable, you really should not haggle,....that's a pest. Tonnes of books up-stairs: great kids books....if you can stand the heat in the summer and chill in winter, you'll find something.
I go there for my Christmas shopping, so much more fun than a box store. I was there yesterday, got a fantastic, pretty painting for $6, I had to pay sales tax of course, cause I live here.
The owner is very frail now, going through chemo, so....go visit him and send him my regards, Monbon, (the lady that bought the signed triptych painting) Thank-you Mr. Red Barn, God Bless.....
